Activities

Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain

At this museum you will find i.a. pop-art (Warhol, Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein) and the bright and loud work of Nikki de Saint Phalle. She donated some 40 pieces to the museum. The museum is located on the Promenade des Arts, near the old city centre. From the roof you can overlook the town.

Chagallmuseum

At this museum the emphasis is on Chagall’s religious work. He was born in Belarus, but went to Paris in his twenties and lived in France for the greater part of his life. He eventually died at the artists’ village of Saint Paul de Vence and that is why the people of the Côte d'Azur are still fond of him. The museum is located on the Avenue Docteur Ménard and can be reached by bus from Lignes d'Azur.

Russian cathedral

It is a peculiar sight: a Russian church with the typical onion shaped domes on the Mediterranean Sea. The church was built by order of the last Russian tsar Nicolas II.
The interior of the church is richly decorated with frescos, beautiful wooden wainscoting and icons.

Promenade des Anglais

The boulevard alongside the beach is one of the most popular attractions of the town. The promenade was laid by order of the English elite who came to Nice as early as the 18th century. Monumental buildings in belle épogue style, among which the famous  Hotel Négresco can be  seen there.
