Have you ever thought about spending the winter in France? In the Netherlands, temperatures are already dropping with us and there is more rain. I always long for the sun, the fragrant flowers, strolling along the boulevard without blowing away. You will think, then I have to go to southern Spain or one of the Canary Islands, but nothing could be further from the truth! France, and especially the South of France, is a wonderful holiday destination with mild temperatures and wonderfully scented flowers. Because today in Les Issambres it is no less than 16 degrees with plenty of sunshine. In this blog I would like to give tips with nice outings that you can do when you are wintering in France.
I am a big fan of beautiful cities, but also of small picturesque towns. But first I want to share this beautiful city with you: Nice. You have something for everyone here: nice shopping area, but also the picturesque, which you find in the old town. You can have a delicious lunch in the old city of Nice, for example at De Cours Saleya. The Cours Saleya is a pedestrian area, half street-half square in the heart of Vieux-Nice (the old Nice). This is the flower market where you can buy plenty of flowers, but where you can also get delicious fresh spices, herbs, fish / meat and this is also a very nice lunch tip. The market is surrounded by nice restaurants where you can eat a delicious salad or order a croque monsieur.
From Tuesday to Saturday there is a market from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Sundays from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM and Monday closed. If you are in the South of France during the winter, you can spend a wonderful day here.
Fréjus and St. Raphaël
The coastal towns of Fréjus and St. Rapaël in southern France are popular because of the beautiful boulevard, pleasant shopping streets and restaurants. Ideal to visit these places during the winter in France.
But did you know that these two places are in a beautiful nature reserve? If you are wintering in France with nice mild and sunny weather, it is of course wonderful to discover the impressive Massif de l’Esterel! The mountain range is approximately 320 km² long of which 130 km² is a protected nature reserve, namely the Forêt domaniale de l’Estérel nature park. If you are a hiking enthusiast, you’ve come to the right place.
Wintering in France is very diverse
So you don’t always have to visit only cities or towns when you are wintering in France. Of course you can also alternate this with a walking tour or visit a museum. The South of France has so much diversity with a mild winter climate, which makes it so attractive for hibernators.
We now have a great offer for hibernators, namely an apartment for € 495 per week. Enjoy the winter months on the Côte d’Azur. And enjoy a breakfast on your own private terrace with a sea view. If you would like to know more about this, you can always reach me or Claire at 030-2250136 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
